Times Not Forgotten Shop on Etsy

Today I changed the name of one of my Etsy shops to Times Not Forgotten.  You can find it here www.timesnotforgotten.com  I will focus on vintage and antique items (not altered) and also some antique and vintage inspired items where I'll make creations from vintage items.  Of course these will lose the vintage quality and will fall under the handmade category on Etsy.  I'm not quite sure which direction this shop will take but I used to love going antiquing and yard saling with my parents and finding interesting items.  I have a bit of a collection and we'll see what comes of it.  Who knows.  I feel this will take me in a direction of family memories and at the same time honour what my parents loved to do.  Family is so very important and I think this will be a nice way to keep these memories even closer to my heart than they already are.

Happy New Year everyone!  I hope the new year brings you all much health, happiness and love.  You never know what a year will bring.  It's been a couple of years without my parents and having lost them it really brings home how important family is.  My son will be coming over for dinner later today and I've made these cupcakes.  I love baking and cooking for family.  I hope he enjoys them and that I'm creating some wonderful memories for him.  Unfortunately my husband is working today but he'll be back a bit later and will be able to spend a bit of time with us.  Treasure your family everyone because you just never know what a year will bring.  All the best in 2012.

Blog Beginnings

The older I get the more I realize how important family and friends are.  They won't always be here.  I know this all too well as I have already lost both of my parents.  With that loss are many family traditions, recipes etc.  that have also been lost.  You always feel you'll have time to gather up that information.  That doesn't always happen and already a lot has been lost.  This blog is my way of gathering up what I still remember and trying to reclaim or find what has been lost.  I'm not really sure where this blog will head but I do know that I really want to save some memories for myself but more particularly for my son.  There are already lots of questions I can't answer.  This information has been lost with those that are already gone.  I want to capture what I can and I also want to capture the new memories that are created each day.  I hope you will find some of this information interesting and that it will make you want to capture your memories as well.  It is so very important!
